A Scottish Wedding

Monday, July 12, 2010

On tuesday, July 6th, a mission friend of Tyler's got married.  He invited us to his wedding up in Bountiful.  His friend, Alan, is from Scotland, and he married a girl here from Utah.  We both really enjoyed their wedding and a highlight was that all of the men in the family wore the traditional Scottish kilts.
The Scottish tradition is that each family has their own pattern and colors that represent their family line.  Alan's family colors are blue, green, and yellow.  The men from the bride's family, even though American, wore red and blue kilts.
Later on at the reception, they had a bagpipe player for entertainment!
Tyler and I loved the Bountiful temple. It was the first time that either of us had been there and we both thought it was really beautiful and had a great view of the valley.
