Every 4th of July it has been a tradition for our family to go up to Brighton. My grandparents have a cabin up there, and we all have lots of memories growing up there. For the 4th of July, they have a parade that goes around the loop. As a little girl I remember riding my bike in the parade once and riding on my grandpa's decorated truck another year.
Brighton is so pretty. As we drove up the canyon yesterday, I kept thinking about how beautiful the mountains are. They are so green right now and the tips still have snow on them, making the scenery gorgeous!
We ate breakfast and lunch up there, watched the parade, played with the cousins, and rode my mom's old motorcycle. She used to have a motorcycle when she was a teenager, but then she sold it to my grandpa to pay for tuition for college. So he has it now and keeps it at the cabin. I think it is so cute - and it is red - making it all the more cute.
At night we came back down to the valley and went to a Bee's game. A very American way to spend the holiday and it was lots of fun! And afterwards there were fireworks.
